pinellas county landscape ordinances

Pinellas County does not require specific design elements for landscape or irrigation systems. Contact Pinellas County Building Department for more information. If the property is within the limits of a city, click here to contact the city.

What Work Requires a Permit?

  • A plumbing permit is required for connection to county or city water, showing backflow preventer. A licensed plumber, licensed irrigation contractor or the homeowner must apply for the permit
     
  • For well pumps, electrical permits are required only if the pump is not already existing. Permit application must be made by a licensed electrical contractor or the homeowner
     
  • Landscape material (hedges and trees) are required as part of the site plan for new construction
