tampa landscape ordinances

Major Design Elements:

  • Follow Florida Irrigation Society irrigation system requirements and appropriate Florida Statutes for rain shut-off device requirements.

  • New development requires a 50/50 split between turf and landscaped areas that use a low-volume irrigation method. (Low-volume irrigation is equal to or less than 30 gallons per hour and cannot be used on turf.)

What Work Requires a Permit?

  • New and existing residential/commercial development and additions.

  • Submittal documents include a separate site plan showing the irrigation zone information and a completed and signed irrigation affidavit.

  • The final Certificate of Occupancy site inspection includes an inspection of the irrigation system.
