construction update 04.25.12

Permanent paving and striping along the construction route in the Ridge Crest neighborhood and Wheeler Road is complete.

Construction of the air release valve located at Rutherford Drive and Crossfield Manor Drive was completed last week. The air release valve in front of the Ridge Crest entrance has been relocated and we are awaiting delivery of the permanent enclosure.

Electrical preparation and landscaping will take place at the well house behind the Ridge Crest neighborhood over the next few weeks.

Oak Trees will be delivered to the well site and planted around the well house by the middle of next week.

All construction activities are expected to be completed by early June 2012.

construction update 03.09.12

Paving in the Ridge Crest neighborhood along Rutherford Drive, Cresswell Manor Court and Crossfield Manor Drive is complete with temporary road striping.

Within the next three weeks, permanent striping will be installed throughout the Ridge Crest neighborhood and Wheeler Road. A deputy from the Hillsborough County Sherriff's Department will be on site during that time to assist with traffic.

Sodding along the roadside on Wheeler Road and in the Ridge Crest neighborhood will be completed this week.

Work on the well site continues and will be completed this June.

Tampa Bay Water's construction contractor will use the following schedule to complete paving efforts along the pipeline route:
  • Monday, Feb. 20, 2012: Milling will take place along Wheeler Road from Seffner Valrico to Rutherford Drive
  • Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012: Paving on Wheeler Road from Seffner Valrico to Rutherford Drive
  • Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012: Milling in the Ridge Crest neighborhood along Rutherford Drive, Cresswell Manor Court and Crossfield Manor Drive
  • Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012: Paving in the Ridge Crest neighborhood along Rutherford Drive, Cresswell Manor Court and Crossfield Manor Drive

Milling and paving along Wheeler Road requires rolling, one-lane closures. A deputy from the Hillsborough County Sherriff’s Department will be on site to assist with traffic.

Milling and paving within the Ridge Crest neighborhood requires rolling, two lane closures. Residents who live along Rutherford Drive, Cresswell Manor Court or Crossfield Manor Drive can access their homes through the detour entrance at Raven Manor Drive and Wheeler Road. Accommodations will be made if immediate access is needed.

Following paving of the Ridge Crest Neighborhood, sod will be replaced on the easements between sidewalks and the pavement.

construction update 02.03.12

Pipeline installation work is complete and all related testing was successful. Construction crews are preparing for asphalt paving during the week of Feb. 20, 2012.

Traffic impacts and one-lane closures are expected during the final paving of East Wheeler Road, Rutherford Drive, and Crossfield Manor Drive.

BUD5R Progress

Residents of Ridge Crest can expect to see less activity in their neighborhood once the repaving is completed. Some construction vehicles will be traveling along Rutherford Drive and Crossfield Manor Drive to the well site as we work to complete construction of the well house.

construction update 01.18.12

Pipeline installation work is heading south on Rutherford in the Ridge Crest neighborhood. Over the next few weeks, construction will move south on Rutherford Drive and then east on to Crossfield Manor Drive.

Detours are in place at each entrance of the Ridge Crest neighborhood on Wheeler Road at Rutherford Drive and at Raven Manor Drive. Access to Rutherford Drive and Crossfield Manor Drive is available to local traffic only.

Permanent paving of East Wheeler Road, Rutherford Drive, and Crossfield Manor Drive will take place once the entire pipeline is installed to the well site.

construction update 01.06.12

With pipeline installation work completed on Wheeler Road, Tampa Bay Water's contractor is now in the next phase of construction. On Jan. 4, 2012, pipeline installation work began in the Ridge Crest neighborhood.

Over the next few weeks, construction will move south on Rutherford Drive and then east on to Crossfield Manor Drive. Local traffic flow will remain open during this time.

Construction within the well site continues and residents may see construction vehicles moving materials through the Ridge Crest neighborhood to the well site entrance located at the end of Crossfield Manor Drive.

Permanent paving of East Wheeler Road, Rutherford Drive, and Crossfield Manor Drive will take place once the entire pipeline is installed to the well site.

construction update 12.16.11

On Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 Tampa Bay Water's contractor completed pipeline installation work to the entrance of the Ridge Crest neighborhood. A successful “pressure-check” of the pipeline installed on East Wheeler Road was completed on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011.

With a successful pressure check complete, we are cleared to pave Wheeler Road with temporary patch during the week of Dec. 19, 2011.

During road paving on East Wheeler Road, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department will be onsite all day to assist with rolling lane closures.

The next phase of pipeline construction on Rutherford Drive and Crossfield Manor Drive, within the Ridge Crest neighborhood, will begin after Jan. 2, 2012.

During the week of Dec. 19, 2011, construction crews will be locating existing utility lines in the Ridge Crest neighborhood. Any areas where asphalt is removed will be temporarily repaired with an asphalt patch prior to the upcoming holidays.

From Dec. 21 to Dec. 23, 2011, the contractor will install pipeline within the well site located south of the Ridgecrest neighborhood, but not on the roadways within the Ridge Crest neighborhood. Please expect construction vehicles moving materials through the Ridge Crest neighborhood to the well site entrance located at the end of Crossfield Manor Drive. Work on the well site is restricted to the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

All work will pause for the holidays from Dec. 24, 2011 through Jan. 2, 2012. Permanent paving of East Wheeler Road, Rutherford Drive, and Crossfield Manor Drive will take place once the entire pipeline is installed to the well site. Currently, this is scheduled for the end of Jan. 2012.

construction update 12.08.11

By Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, Tampa Bay Water's contractor expects pipeline installation work to reach Rutherford Drive at Wheeler Road. Pipeline installation will then enter the Ridge Crest neighborhood through the east exit lane on Rutherford Drive and continue south about 50 feet.

The pipeline will then be capped and a blow-off valve will be installed. No further construction of pipeline within the Ridge Crest neighborhood will be completed until after Jan. 2, 2012.

During pipe installation at the Ridge Crest entrance, at least one lane of the entrance will remain open at all times and construction crews will direct traffic to ensure the safety of all.

During the weeks of Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, 2011, construction crews will be locating existing utility lines in the Ridge Crest neighborhood. Any areas where asphalt is removed will be temporarily repaired with an asphalt patch prior to the upcoming holidays.

Pipeline construction for Tampa Bay Water's BUD-5R Collection Main project continues on Wheeler Road between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Lane closures are expected along Wheeler Road.

Overnight construction is scheduled from 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2 to 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Wheeler Road will be closed from Dohle Road to 1501 West Wheeler Road, which is about about 100 feet.

During the weeks of Dec. 12 and Dec. 19, construction crews will be locating existing utility lines in the Ridge Crest neighborhood. Any areas where asphalt is removed will be replaced with an asphalt patch prior to the upcoming holiday.

East Wheeler Road will be paved with temporary asphalt prior to Dec. 23. Work will then pause for the holiday from Dec. 24 through Jan. 2. Permanent paving of East Wheeler Road will take place in Jan.

Pipeline construction for Tampa Bay Water's BUD-5R Collection Main project, which began in early October, will continue on Wheeler Road between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily. Single-lane closures are expected along Wheeler Road.

Construction activities will pause for the Thanksgiving holiday on November 24 and 25. Construction activities on Wheeler Road will resume between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 28.

construction update 11.15.11

Overnight construction scheduled for Nov. 15 to Nov. 16 has been postponed. Overnight construction will now take place from 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 17 to 6:00 a.m. on Nov. 18. Both lanes along Wheeler Rd., between Rolling Ranch Rd. and Sunridge Rd., will be closed during this time. Non-local traffic on Wheeler Rd. will be detoured at Seffner Valrico Rd. and at Kingsway Rd.

Pipeline construction for Tampa Bay Water's BUD-5R resumed last week after a brief weather delay. Construction will continue during the day between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. with one-lane closures along Wheeler Road. No weekend work is scheduled.

Overnight construction will take place from 8:00 p.m. on Nov. 15 to 6:00 a.m. on Nov. 16. Both lanes along Wheeler Rd., between Rolling Ranch Rd. and Sunridge Rd., will be closed during this time. Non-local traffic on Wheeler Rd. will be detoured at Seffner Valrico Rd. and Kingsway Rd.

Pipeline construction for Tampa Bay Water's BUD-5R Collection Main project began on Oct. 11 with a successful tie-in at the intersection of Seffner Valrico Rd. and Wheeler Rd. Pipeline installation was then delayed due to weather but resumes this week. Construction will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

There will be lane closures during the pipeline installation along Wheeler Rd. No weekend work is scheduled.

Construction activities will soon take place near a school bus stop located on Wheeler Rd., just east of Seffner Valrico Rd. A deputy from the Hillsborough County Sherriff's department will be on site Monday through Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., to ensure the safety of children as they exit the school bus and head for home.

Hillsborough County construction crews are also in the area repairing a pedestrian bridge located on the south side of Wheeler Rd. near Sun Ridge Dr.

On Oct. 26th, Tampa Bay Water will begin relocating gopher tortoises living on the well site south of the Ridge Crest development. We will safely remove the gopher tortoises and take them to an authorized relocation area. The tortoises are being relocated in accordance with the permit issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

construction update 10.10.11

Pipeline installation for Tampa Bay Water's BUD-5R Collection Main Project begins Tues., Oct. 11, in Valrico, FL with a tie-in at the intersection of Seffner Valrico Rd. and Wheeler Rd. The work at the intersection will run from 8:00 p.m. Tues., Oct. 11 to 6:00 a.m. Wed., Oct. 12. All lanes at the intersection will be closed during this time.

If the overnight work is not completed by 6:00 a.m. on Wed., installation will be halted until 8:30 a.m. to allow for morning rush hour traffic to proceed uninterrupted. Work will resume at 8:30 a.m. with one-lane closures on Wheeler Rd. and Seffner Valrico Rd. until the tie-in work is complete.

On Thurs., Oct. 13, pipeline installation along Wheeler Rd. begins. There will be one-lane closures during the installation along Wheeler Rd.

Hillsborough County construction crews are also in the area repairing a pedestrian bridge located on the south side of Wheeler Rd. near Sun Ridge Dr.
