Reliability

Because Tampa Bay Water is unequivocally committed to meeting the needs of its Member Governments continuously, reliability of its supply sources is of primary importance.  Water supply source reliability addresses the challenges Tampa Bay Water faces in accomplishing its mission, including source water protection, drought resistance, diversification, adequate supply, source optimization, supply, storage, and transmission flexibility, as well as the potential impacts of future climate affects, particularly increased climatic variability, which can affect source water quantity and quality.  System reliability is also critical to ensure that the public health responsibility of water supply is continuously maintained, as well as providing the flexibility to maintain environmental stewardship.
